Federico Squassi

Federico Squassi, graduated in Civil Procedural Law at the University of Milan with a thesis on the relationship between the ordinary jurisdiction and arbitration, was admitted as Attorney in Milan in 1973 and later on to the Supreme Court; in the late 70’s he founded with Francesco Bortone, the Law Firm that now shares in partnership with Michelangelo Montefusco.

He specialised since the early 70’s in Labour Law by providing judicial and extrajudicial assistance to national and multinational clients operating in various fields (Industry, Commercial, Banking, Health) in all labour issues, including those related to trade union, social security contribution, agents and financial advisors.

In his specialisation, he is particularly dedicated to business restructuring and sale and transfers of business especially when connected to large labour involvements; individual and collective dismissals and labour disputes; labour contracts both for employees and for self-employed workers and directors; Agency contracts and financial advisors contracts; he is among the few professionals with a specific expertise in the organization of networks of agents, financial advisors and direct sales advisors.

He personally assists in litigation on the above subjects as well as those related to social security classification for Companies and controversial labour relationships.

In these areas, he lectures and is author of articles and monographic works on Agency in the direct sales and financial advisors.

Besides his strong engagement with labor law – that has led him to join AGI (Association of Italian Labour Lawyer) since its establishment – he has been deeply involved in the field of intellectual property and competition law and plays a significant activity in the protection of industrial property rights, both in civil and – in cooperation with other lawyers – in criminal cases, as well as in the field of unfair competition and non-competition agreements.

The strong commitment to the profession, which is still his greatest passion, does not prevent him from cultivating the favorite hobbies of golf and photography.
